JAN DOWNEYTributes have been paid to a grandmother whose body was discovered in a ditch in Sewardstone.Police were contacted by the ambulance service shortly after 8am on Saturday (March 10) following reports that a woman's body had been found in a ditch off Daws Hill. They arrived to find the body of Jan Downey.A provisional post-mortem examination result showed the 62-year-old, from Daws Hill in Sewardstone, had died as a result of drowning.In a family statement, a relative said: "Jan was a loving daughter, sister, mother and grandmother who will be sadly missed by many people."A police investigation is under way.
